  • Ready-to-use system: Recommended for the determination of total aerobic bacterial counts in food commodities, including raw meat and fish, bagged pre-washed lettuce and vegetables, and pasteurized whole milk, heavy cream, and nonfat dry milk
  • Increase efficiency: Compared to other commonly used culture systems, CompactDry has a longer shelf life, can be stored at room temperature, does not require manual sample spreading, is rigid, stackable, easy to label, and allows for direct colony picking for further subculture
  • Easy to enumerate: Most colonies will be red due to reduction of TTC
  • Four connected plates: Each cassette can be easily separated into individual plates to support a variety of dilution scenarios
  • Ability to subculture without damage to colonies
  • Stored at room temperature: Competitor products are stored at temperatures less than or equal to 8°C
Hardy Diagnostics CompactDry TCR (Total Count Rapid) is a ready-to-use dehydrated culture media system for performing total viable aerobic bacterial counts on food, cannabis, meat, cosmetics, raw materials and more! The medium is instantly hydrated when inoculated with a sample, and capillary action diffuses the sample evenly over the matrix to form a gel within seconds. Colonies grown on Compact Dry TCR turn red/pink due to the redox indicator, triphenlytetrazolium chloride (TTC). Compact Dry TCR is comparable to other dry film test methods and to the spiral plate method. Compact Dry TCR was granted Performance Tested Method (PTM) status by the AOAC Research Institute for the determination of total aerobic bacterial counts from a variety of foods after 24 hours of incubation (PTM 082201).
